DVD NAV Display Problems

The display for my DVD NAV does not automatically dim when I turn on my headlights. The dealer says this is normal. In order for me to dim the display I have to come to a complete stop, put the car in park and manually reconfigure the system. Does everybody have to do this or is my system not correctly installed.

Thanks for your replies.

What you have to do is, on your left stalk with your light switch on it you have to turn the dimmer switch down from the highest setting. I had the same problem, when I turned it down from the highest click, the Nav dimms with the headlights.

If your nav is the REC system, go into the menu option and see if the brightness is set to automatic, there is an option to set the brightness and if I remember correctly you can set it to a particular brightness or automatic which will dim when the headlights are turned on, at least that's the way mine works
