drivers conv group

i just realized that the drivers convience group is missing one of the most convient items to a driver. CRUISE CONTROL!! wouldnt that be convient to have? right now atleast its not a big deal living on the rock, but when we (wife and kid and dogs) drive back to the states in 2 years it sure as hell would be nice. guess ill have to shell out the money to get it then...

The Caliber is the same way, it's a separate listing. Wife didn't want it, I did but, there was no argument, it's standard on the Limited. Sure was nice for the road trip.

Interesting Marketing. Keep the vehicle cheep, then make a few packages.. North, Limited, then there are more options. I know my salesman was very inexperienced in the options.

All I wanted was an AWD, AC, 5 SPEED and cheep. Then he asked if I wanted Power Door Locks and Windows... Thought about it, and yes... Then the next thing I knew, I was ordering the Limited. I'm not looking back now, but it's all in how they "package" the options and how much knowledge "We" have about what we are buying.

I have read almost every artical since ordering it, just to see what I ordered. It will be like a Christmas present when it shows up. The dealer did not even have a limited on the lot, and will call me if one arrives just to look at it.

I feel like I'm on the Rock.

Geo, your experience is very close to mine. I went into a dealership in early September, having done a ton of research and knowing exactly what I wanted. I ended up telling the salesman all about the car and the available options. He didn't know anything about the North package and actually spent about 20 minutes trying to find it on his computer. I tried to explain that it was simply a certain trim package, but as sales rep, of course he figured he knew more than I did. Then, as I outlined the options I wanted to add, he tried to talk me into a Limited that cost a few thousand more dollars that I wanted to spend - and had options that I figured I didn't need. Needless to say, I bought at a different dealership.

I ordered the North package in early September, but it hasn't arrived yet.

What exactly is the north package? Sorry to sound so stupid.

Looks like the "North" package may be regional, or a Canadian option package. Does not list on the Jeep site using my zip code.

I have noticed in the past that Dodge Trucks have packages that are specific to regions, or even specific states. Can't remember the actual name, but there was one package only offered in Texas.

Ya know what bothers me?

Unless you get the EVIC, you do not get a Compass in a Compass.

The "North package" is only available in Canada, but it's simply a fancy way they're labelling the Compass Sport with the E trim package. (Just makes us Canucks feel special!)

I'm happy to say that after ordering my Compass on September 7, it's finally moving down the line and should ship early next week. Woo-hoo!
