"Delay turning headlamps off" function

The "Delay turning headlamps off" function has stopped working on our 2008 Compass. The headlamps always stayed on for probably a minute after exiting our Compass. We've had it for four years, so when this feature stopped working it was very noticeable. Nothing else seems to be wrong. We don't have the EVIC system, so as far as I can find in the manual, there's no way for us to make changes regarding this function. We have a trip scheduled to the dealer next week for state inspection, and the service writer I talked to on the phone was stumped. Actually, we wouldn't miss the delayed turn off of the headlamps, but are worried it might be a symptom of an electrical problem. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Follow up on op. Dealer couldn't explain what happened. Tech hooked his laptop up to my vehicle and said he could adjust the "Delay turning headlamps off" time just like with EVIC system. I told him to leave it set to 0 seconds. No one could explain how it got changed, but they said they could find nothing wrong and no codes were showing. I guess that's the end of the story.

A simple computer glitch probably and no way to trace it.
