So I tried to change the rotors and pads on the rear end of my Compass this weekend.
Normally, this is a very simple affair. I’ve done it on many other cars.
This one turned into a mess.
The slider pin on the caliper was so seized up that I literally rounded off the head of the bolt when I thought I was loosening it.
Any help? Ideas? Suggestions? I’d rather not start cutting bolts off, and I don’t want to replace the entire caliper.
I’m going to give it another shot this weekend with some kind of rust release spray and light blows with a small hammer, to hopefully loosen the rust under the heads and threads
