When my warranty expires, I have the cash, and another vehicle to use for a while, I plan on importing everything needed to put it in mine. I know of guys on a TDI site importing the 16 valve TDI 2.0. I have spent a lot of time in my friend's 1.9L TDI and this one is even more powerful with almost as good fuel economy. Might also invest in a CRD Liberty one day. Oh ya mo old Opel is probably getting a 1.6 TD in it

HI
The CRD is limited as it’s high on emissions VW are dropping this engine, so jeep will as well soon as it doesn’t meet the new emissions laws.

Pardon me for asking, its not a CRD yet is it? I was under the impression that it was a TDI as in Pumpe Duse engine and that VW is changing over to CRD (Common Rail) format for their upcoming 2.0L TDIs that are coming over here.

jeep badge it as crd as its there copyright for diesel

the current vw motor will be in the patriot and compass/calibar until late 2010

its the only small suv available in australia with a diesel option

with the fuel economy i'm getting really don't care if its a few points of the emissions targets
its a much better footprint than the v8 grand i had before it

once the new crd comes out in 2011 i'll consider changing then
