Considering a 2012 Patriot...

Our '02 Dakota truck is near to retire and we are in the market for a new one and the '12 Patriot is one of the vehicles that we consider to purchase, however, reading different review ratings gets me thinking twice and preventing me to pull the trigger. Its nice to have a forum like this and it would be nicer if anyone will share their experience in owning a Patriot (performance, highway driving, engine noise issue, cvt, etc). Any feedback will be appreciated and wil help me decide. Thanks

I just bought a 2012 Patriot last Monday. I haven't had it a week yet, so it is hard to rate it yet. So far I am happy. It doesn't handle super on the highway, but it isn't a car either and considering my other Jeep is a 1997 lifted TJ, it handles like a dream compared to that. I like the Patriot so far though. Auto start, heated seats, and Sirius radio are comforts that I am not used to yet, but I am definitely diggin them. Also getting 21 City and 26 Highway are nice.

I've only had mine for 3 days but so far I'm happy with it. I'm coming from a 10 yr old minivan so anything is going to look good.

I'm also thinking seriously about a new Patriot Limited because my 2000 GC is old and tired like me. What negative reviews have you read so far?

I gotta chuckle at this one, I traded my '09 Wrangler for a '12 Compass, but wouldn't you know it, the wife gets the Compass and I get the '99 Town&Country. At least I can take the seats out and haul lots of crap back there, and the dog loves all that room. So if I can keep the wife and dog happy I guess I can't complain, heh?

Just bought a '12 Patriot Latitude 4wd for my retired mother. It's a pretty nice package and should be a good vehicle.

So far, I've been very happy with it. I've got a couple of road trips planned for this spring and summer. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I'm looking at pulling the trigger on one this Saturday does anyone have anything to say about the packages offered? Im looking at getting the latitude package with the all weather package and sound system upgrade and 430n nav radio. Plus the security and connivence package. I want the fd 2 package but I really have no need for it...

I'm not a fan of the Boston stereo as evidenced in my other threads, but on the other hand, I haven't heard the stock stereo lately so I'm not sure how bad it really is.

You should consider the trailer tow package just for the increased towing capability, even though you may never tow a trailer. If it helps prolongs the life of the CVT, then its a couple hundred bucks well spent.

Just bought a 2007 patriot, had a 98 dodge ram 1500. Way better gas mileage and handles great in the snow and rain. Everything is stock in it but the speakers sucks. Definitely upgrade the sound system.
