Gramps....the Compass has had mud on it. Everytime I clean it my wife seems fit to hit every dirt road in the area. Usually right after it rains. What's a husband to do?? And I like the idea of an area for Compass owners photos. Can we make this happen??

I don't know if it's a "run" but, I'm trying to contact the right Administrator to see what needs to be done and to find out exactly what a "sticky" is/does. We don't have a Moderator listed for us folks over here and that may or may not be a problem. I also don't know if a "sticky" allows ANYBODY to do attachments or if it's OK for those who can to do it for those who can't.

These guys have built a GREAT site and I really appreciate what they've done! Even though I seem to have a lot of post for a Compass owner, I'm still a "newbie" by comparison, so I'm still trying to figure out how the site works myself!

venture into the xj section and see for yourself.

a sticky is a thread thats stuck to the top of the forum no matter when the last post was made.

same rules in reguards to posting pics though. 50 tech posts/30 days.

and any mod or admin should be able to do it depending on how the board is set up.

I've been over looking at the XJ threads since last night, just trying to do it right the first time. I've written five pm's to the powers that be and I'm waiting for a response. Your last statement "depending on how the board is set up" is one of the things that I'm trying to find out.

I would also like to have a sticky like EricXJ's:

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/rules-guidelines-20534/

and

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=266114

Oh, and THANKS for you input!

pm eric or balloo, they're both mods over there and they should (again, depending on how the board is set up) should have the power to do it in this section even if they're not listed

If anyone wants to see what my Compass looks like in the snow check out the photos in the Owners Photos area. Check out the last one as it has a fun mileage shown.

Dry blowing snow this morning. Back roads had drifts 70' long or so, 5" - 10" deep, sailed right through them at 20-25 mph. Shaved off the top 3" - 4" several times with the undercarriage. Think I'll look for some skid plates . Expecting the same tomorrow, I won't forget the camera this time!!

4 Wheel drive was NOT on.

Not the best picture that I've ever taken. The conditions were just about twice as bad yesterday morning and the snow plows had run through last night. The height and length of snow was just like this except it was all of the way across the road. There wasn't a road really, you just new where it was supposed to be.

Good picture of a nasty drive!

We had over a foot and blizzard conditions here for about 32 hours. The 2x4 compass stayed in the garage, although it certainly beats the other car we drive...

a Toyota MR2 Spyder. It is terrrrrrrible in the weather! Rear wheel drive and no weight in the front at all.

Don't feel bad, my Challenger is worthless on snow and ice! It reminds me of Back to the Future III on the Rail Road tracks when they went back home in the DeLorean.

Got a foot of snow here in Vermont and from what I hear another foot is on the way tonight. Wife took the Compass to work and while the going was SLOW she didn't have any troubles except for ice build up on the wiper blades.

Glad to here so many good things about how we do in the snow and ice! My friend at work with an Outback (she loves her car) blew a head gasket and is driving their big phord van (woops, it's a shivie). Boy does she hate that! Same visibility, maneuvering and parking problems that we talked about on another thread.

Another good thing about being a 2 Jeep family is that I no longer bother to shovel the lower 3 feet of the driveway, you know, the area where the snow plows push it back up in there any way.

Now there's a Jeep thing that everybody can understand!
