Here's the Patriot ones. Got to thinking the Compass ones might be different now?

I think there was a thread recently about crossbars and either the old Compasses or the new ones were different than the Patriots. Either way, if they are like the Pats on mine, I have a Yakima King Cobra bike rack that fits on there as well.

For the record, my cross bars dont lock on, and there is no way I know of to do so. They have hand tightened knobs that could be undone and stolen in 2 minutes or less. I remove mine and reinstall weekly for each use. (leaving it in a parking lot today like right before this pic is rare). My racks are locked to the crossbar but the crossbar doesnt lock to the car.

I have cross bars i bought off of Ebay and they fit great on my Patriot. Mine actually lock with a key onto the Jeep. They were a lot less expensive then the Mopar brand. I think i only paid around 55 bucks including shipping.

The lock just hides the tool used to tighten down the bars to the roof rack. If you were to unlock it.. you would twist the lock while the grips tighten around the bars. I've never looked at a Compass's roof rack, but if it is similar to the Patriot's it'll work. I believe my bars are 59'' long so they do stick out over the side of my Jeep. So if your getting in and out of your Jeep watch your head. It sticks out a couple inches. I'm a member on another forum and some of the guys there have actually cut these bars down a few inches so they don't over hang. Not a bad investment for 55 bucks.
