Lets not forget Knightfallszx2 wallpaper either.

Do you think that if Jeep would have done ads with shots like these instead of the bobble heads the Compass would have had ever a better reception than what it did?

BTW: this is a good place to announce this. Keith recently added a GD section to the 3 most popular sub-forums and has said that we can now be a bit less technical in the Libby and MK areas and allow some model related chat to our forum. Personally I'm glad that I don't have to be so hard nosed anymore. Just be kind, flaming and harassment are still banning offenses.

I don't know.

But here the Jeep (Compass) as an american car an as a Jeep has a certain reputation

As JEEP is here a synonym for offroad vehicle, i.e. in everyday life, when someone talk about jeeps, he may not mean Jeep, but any (more) offroad capable vehicle regardless of the manufacturer. And maybe that's because you can not buy 4x2 Compass or any other 4x2 Jeep here, only 4x4-s. To keep the offroad capable reputation.

Other thing as an sales argument is "american vehicle". This is also a reputation. A proper american car has always almost all the extras as default. You don't have to pay more and order these. For example, Compass Sport (and also Patriot Sport) here is always 4x4, with 17'' alloy wheels, power windows, computer, air conditioning (default only in CRD) etc.
