Our best milage on our Patriots is around 29-30 mpg (manual tranny). That's highway with stop and go traffic too. Around town, I'm averaging between 19-22. My commute is very short (like 5 minutes to the daycare, then another 3 minutes to work). Will I get better milage if I let the car warm up (especially in winter)? What about summer?

It's been a bit over 6 months, and my Compss CRD has gone through it's 10,000km service. To date i've been averaging 8.5L/100km (27.67 MPG US or 33.23 MPG UK), mainly city driving with some highway driving.

Are you reaching normal operating temp on such a short drive? I've noticed that when I let mine warm up in the winter, turn on the heater and heated seats, that I get maybe an extra 1/2 mpg. I doesn't take as long for it to arm up in the summer but I believe that it would be beneficial.

Oh, dropping down from Flagstaff to Phoenix I think that I hit 38/39 mpg.
