Changing Head Unit on a Limited with Boston Upgrade

Has anyone changed the head unit on a Limited that has the 9 speaker Boston Audio system?

This system has a seperate amp and I was wondering if the Amp uses speaker level inputs in which case the head unit swap would be the same as for a standard vehicle. If the factory fit amp had to be bypassed you would lose the 8 speakers plus woofer without fitting a new amp.
