center console switch pod

Can anyone tell me(us) what the next to last on the right switch is used fore? It's something I must know!!!!!!!!!!It is about to kill me. Is it the diesel glow plugs or the off road light option or back-up assist or etc......? Ther is some TEASER pic's in the brochure and the parts manual, but I just can't seem to make out the text.

Next to last on the right of my Caliber is the passenger side airbag light. Possibly the same thing? Put something like 5 lbs or so in the seat and turn the car on and see if it lights up.
edit: On the note of Compass brochures, how come on page 22-23 of the '07 brochure you guys have 4 seatbelt buckles in the back? THAT bugs me!

Thanks for the answer, this may be the answer for some pre-production models or for the Compass only! Sorry, I have a Patriot and have not updated my sig'''''. I'll take a look for the"four seat belt buckles".Patriots have three.

Second Row Center Lap/Shoulder Belt Operating
Seat belts:
Instructions
The second row center lap/shoulder belt features a three
point seat belt with a mini latch and buckle, which allows
the shoulder belt to detach from the lower anchor when
the seat is folded. The mini buckle and shoulder belt can
then be stored out of the way in the right side trim panel
for added convenience.
1. Remove the mini latch and regular latch from its
stowed position in the right rear side trim panel.
2. Grasp the mini latch plate and pull the belt over the
seat.

Is this what we're looking at on the Center Stack below the A/C, Fan and Heater Comtrols? If so that is the passenger side airbag warning. "Something" is not heavy enough to correctly occupy that seat.

You can check the system by turning the key to run without starting and the Air Bag light should come on for a few seconds.

Gramps....in the pic you posted, on the end of that 'pad' are the "Drivers (L) and Passengers (R) Heated Seat Switches".

the squiggly lines indicate heat radiating UP from the seat. is THAT what you guys are talking about?

I think this is what hvac59 was asking about. This is from the '07 Compass Owners Manual, the '08 Patriot Manual says that it's in the instrument panel.

The Passenger Airbag Disabled (PAD) Indicator
Light (an amber light located in the center of the
instrument panel) tells the driver and front passenger
when the front passenger airbag is turned off. The
PAD Indicator lamp illuminates the words

PASS AIRBAG OFF

to show that the front passenger airbag will
not inflate during a collision requiring airbags. When the right front passenger seat is empty or when very
light objects are placed on the seat, the passenger air
bag will not inflate even though the Passenger Airbag
Disable (PAD) indicator lamp is not illuminated.

• The PAD indictor light should not be illuminated
when an adult passenger is properly
seated in the front passenger seat. In
this case, the air bag is ready to be inflated if
a collision requiring an airbag occurs. For all other
occupants, the PAD indicator light will be illuminated
indicating that the front passenger airbag is turned off
and will not inflate.

NOTE: Even though this vehicle is equipped with an
occupant classification system, children 12 years and
under should always ride buckled up in a rear seat in an
appropriate child restraint (see section on child restraints).

Hi, I searched and found this link and panel is the source of my question. I just bought a 2011 Compass and had the dealer add heated seats. The installation put the switches for the seats way down on the arm rest console. When I asked about why they didn't put factory switches in the front console they said too expensive. I bought used switch pod on ebay. Anyone know the wiring set up for the switch console as in the picture above?
