Not a lot of room or places for a clean install. How big is the unit?

Consider a Cobra 75 wxst

I installed this radio with weather radio... Mounted the main unit under the front pass seat and attached the head unit with controls and it sits around the center console...

Works extremely well...

I actually needed the weather radio feature and the cb function was just extra functions...I have been able to discover road conditions miles ahead of where I am and change directions without being stuck in traffic stopped for a wreck or other obstacles...

I initially used a glass mount NGP Midland antenna but I am looking into other solutions.. This type of antenna worked great on my Escape and my F-150 but not as well as I would like on the Compass...Right now I am using a Cobra magnetic mount but am considering others as a permanent mount without drilling holes...

If you like listening to the radio, you should know that there are huge changes happening in the radio broadcasting industry and they all center around satellite radio. This new breakthrough will change forever the way that we listen to radio programming. If you haven't already heard a sample, or experienced satellite radio for yourself, make sure that you do soon.

How well does that setup receive ? How far ahead (miles) are you able to hear and reach out ?

I have one as well and absolutely LOVE it !

I need a CB to for highway road trips to keep abreast of accidents and construction traffic problems.

I can pick up folks on the other side of the city... Probably 20-25 miles of a congested city...Also based of antenna as well... I have a pair of Firesticks on my F-150 and I can reach out A LOT FURTHER than with the Midland window mount... But I am trying more clamp on solutions...

I will get back to you...
