When I used the heat in my JGC back in early April when it was delivered, and we still had some cold nights, I noticed what you're talking about, especially the "burning wood" smell. Initially I thought of taking it to the dealer, but it quit making the smell in a short period of time. We've been using the heat again, and I haven't noticed the smell. I would only be guessing at the cause, but whatever it was, it's gone now. I'm thinking things like the first time you use a new oven, toaster, etc., or the first time you fire up your furnace for the season. By the way, if you're a Red Sox fan, congratulations!
Definitely the breaking in period, you've got a brand new vehicle and you're going to smell some wierd stuff untill it passes. Just like the first time you turn the heat on in your house for the fall.. It initially smells off, but fades away.
