brake squeal when coming to complete stop....

About the time it starting getting colder here in Philadelphia i started to notice a bit of a squeal in the brakes when i came to a complete stop... doesn't do it all the time but it does it often... my question is they just did a 6,000 mile service on the car and it has 5900 miles on they supposedly checked for brake wear but i don't know.. would i have any right to have the pads replaced since the car only has 5900 miles on it or because it is a normal wear item do i have to get them replaced on my own?

Cold shouldn't affect them, just the light rust from moisture that's quickly removed as you've probably read else where.Do they continue to squeal even after driving it for a while or does it quit?

You would have a right to complain about them and have them look at them again and check for glaze on the rotor.

no it doesn't stop but today when i was in my dad's driveway it's on a bit of a slope i was pulling in and it just squealed every time i hit the brakes.. and i had been driving for about 20 minutes before i pulled into the driveway and it doesn't happen in reverse like most people i see on the board complaining about just when i bring it to a complete stop I'm definitely taking it in to be looked at...

A glaze can build up on the rotors or the pads that can cause this kind of squealing. Also the pads not being seated to the calipers but that happens when someone screws up on replacing the pads, not something that's been in service such as yours. A warped rotor could cause this too and they can be warped by not torquing the lug nuts correctly (100 ft/lbs). I got mine back from the dealer after a tire rotation and they were WAY over torqued!
