bad tie rod end

Since we baught our 08 compass i've noticed a clunking noise in the front, well while i was painting the rims last week i decided to start pulling on things and seeing if anything is making noise... The pass side tie rod end moves .. the other side does not...

Just wondering what would cause it to move? is it loosening up? or should i just buy the brand new tie rod end.. its only like 33 bucks

Thats a weak point on these. Tie rod end and lower control arm bushings. New tie rod end ought to take care of it.
