Axle info please

What axles do these have front and rear? I went by the dealership, but they were too low to the ground to get a peak underneath. Same as usual 35 rear, 30 front?

Thanks

No, no, no. Sorry, these are primarily FWD with electronic couplings to the optional rear end that make it a 4WD. I truly believe that you won't find any similarities in axles that your looking for. We'll hopefully know more when we get the Service Manuals, but thanks for you interest!

This link gives an expansion of the Freedom Drive I used in the Compass/Patriot as well as the other Jeep 4WD systems.

Opps!

Thanks for the reply.

I think I can picture it, I have a car that was essentially FWD, but using a viscous coupling unit, splits the torque to a rear axle.

So a compass would be AWD right? (On the models with the optional rear end) Are they full time AWD or selectable?

Thanks again,

-Ricky

The 4WD version is AWD all of the time with a locking lever to split the torque 50-50 in off road or bad road conditions. You can also turn off the Electronic Stability Program to enhance it's capabilities but you'd never be able to turn it in to a Rubicon , etc. with out changing the whole works out. The Freedom drive I also only has a high range 4WD. The Freedom Drive II due out on the Patriot has a Low range more suited for heavier 4WD work.
