annoying whine in drive train 68-72 mph
We have a 2009 2wd jeep patriot limited with the manual trans, about 700 miles on it.
Problem is it has an annoying whine in 5th gear around 68-72 mph, worse in the drivers seat. It is not engine speed related that we can tell. Any ideas where to look. i would rather not take it too the dealer and loose the car for a few days, I figure we can wait till what ever it is to blow up, then it will be more obvious.
Also has any one figured out a way to make it easier to put the oil dipstick back in the hole?
I belong to another Jeep Forum also, it is very common, mine does it. It's most pronounced at 70mph, but I think it is RPM related. I hear it in other gears around the same RPM's just not as pronounced. Differential whine almost but too high pitched like a bad ground on a stereo system.
