I got the call today from my dealer that my Compass is in transport to me. So I should have it at the end of this week, or early next week at the latest. It's nice to know that after wanting one for what seems like a long time that it's almost here.

One question I have is concerning winter tires. I live in southern Quebec, so we have pretty nasty winters. I was lucky to pick up a set of winter tires on sale a couple of weeks ago for 25% off.

My Compass North comes stock with 215/60/17 tires, these are 215/65/17. I was originally going to get a set of rims for the winter tires. But they seem hard to find for some reason. Could I just swap my tires off the summer rims and use them? I think it's just a small difference in height so they should work.

Would using these for one winter ruin my summer rims? I'd prefer to just have a seconf set of rims, but if I get stuck would this be ok? Thanks for the help guys.

Those 65's are .85" taller, not a big deal. your speedo will be off less than 2 mph @ 60 (less than 3KPH @100). Most people run steel wheels in the winter because of salt eating the aluminum, just keep them clean and you'll be fine. Did you order the TPMS? If so, you'll need extra sensors for the extra wheels when you find them.

How long has yours been on order?

I didn't think there would be a problem. I stopped by the deal a couple of weekends ago. There were two Compasses parked beside each other. One had the 60s and the other had 65s. You really couldn't tell the difference, but I wanted to double check.

I ordered mine exactly 5 weeks ago yesterday. So when it's all said and done, it will have been about a six week wait, not bad.

One thing I had wanted to ask as well. The 2007 model was eligible in Canada for a government rebate if you got the right model. I asked the dealer when I ordered this one and they said that the 08 would be eligible as well. I peeked at the Canadian Jeep website and didn't see it mentioned anywhere. I was wondering if anyone else in Canada knew anything about this?

My compass sport came with the 215/65 17 Goodyear All terrains (Factory Option). The winter tires you have are the same size. They will problem.
