Airbag light

Ok...so im driving home yesterday and the red airbag light on the dash comes on. As soon as i saw it i reacted by slamming my head back against the headrest thinking my airbag might deploy....then i remembered this wont happen unless im in an accident (hopefully)...made me chuckle for a second. When i got home a 1/2 hour later, i turned the car off for about 2 hours. When i turned it on again the light was off. I plugged in my trusty OBD II code reader and it read nothing. No stored codes.

At this point, i will wait to see if it comes on again...anyone else have an airbag light issue???

none here, had ours for about a year.

MKs have airbags all over the place, if they ever all go off at once it will be like being inside a giant marshmallow

Bumping a long dead thread. I did a search and come up with this. I had the same problem yesterday, turned it off then back on and the light was gone. Today on the way to work the light came on again. Has anyone one else in the last two years experienced this or knows what is causeing it?

Thanks in advance, Eric

I had this problem on a chev van i used to own. Turns out it was the seat belt buckle,70 bucks for a new one and it never came back on. They had to connect the scanner when the light was on as it wasn't storing the code for some reason. Hope that helps

there is a harness connection inside the steering wheel behind the airbag, and if it doesn't have enough slack in the wiring it will come on everytime it gets pulled on, which is when you turn your steering wheel more than 90 degrees. Check to see if the light comes on when you are backing out of a parking spot or something like that, and I'll bet you need to pull more slack in the wires.

I got here by looking for a dtc code B1B0A I have a dodge charger by the way so they use the same chrysler codes
I just wanted to mention to the original poster that I don't believe you can read the airbag codes with an ordinary OBD II scanner So if it's an active code it's probably still there you just can't read it.
If it's a stored code it can be cleared

I believe the most recent poster is referring to the clockspring in the steering wheel and I have heard some chrysler owners ( I forget which model) that had some intermittent airbag light issues caused by the clockspring when the steering wheel is turned

I wasn't trying to be a smart A with my "code posting" reply. There really are so many different things that it can be. My Air bag light came on and stayed on after I did this: I opened the passenger door and put my knee on the passenger seat to reach the power door locks on the drivers side. The seat did not decompress correctly and caused the light to come on. It finally went out when I simply sat in the passenger seat and has been fine ever since. Some times it's the little things that drive you nuts but then laugh about later.

So I inherited a 2006 Dodge Dakota 4x2 and I was looking at it and got the majority of the things fixed besides the ABS mudule and the dang air bag light.....I have three codes that distinguish themselves and they are B223DB, U1415, & U1414 these are all codes that i have seen in this post so far. I have tried all of the little tricks and other things that could helped mentioned in this post and i really don't want to go digging for the clock spring to verify if it is bad or not....any suggestions?

airbag light

Came across this forum when needing help with my patriot ive had it since 09 brand new off the lot. 4 years later the airbag sensor started popping up everytime the car got warm inside. Luckily we got into a car accident and the bags didnt deploy. We were told i was actually pretty lucky otherwise it could have caused some damage to me on deployment. They said it was just loose wires below my seat and fixed it. Now some 5-6 months later its popping back up! I've checked everything and have changed things around nothing seems to work. This seems to be a ongoing problem with jeeps
