Advisory Label for Refrigerant Dye - build date of January 3, 2012 or later
Jeep Tech Tip:
For all vehicles with build date of January 3, 2012 or later, that have any A/C issue related to refrigerant charge, the first step to diagnosis will be to look for the refrigerant leak with the specified UV light. DO NOT (as a first step), evacuate the system and refill with refrigerant and dye. The reason is, that all vehicles, starting January 3, 2012 are being shipped from the assembly plant with refrigerant dye already in the A/C refrigerant loop. These vehicles are identified by an advisory label surrounding the A/C service port. Once the refrigerant leak has been located with the UV light, then proceed with refrigerant reclaim process (assuming there is any residual charge). Once the leak has been repaired, then proceed with the normal evacuate and re-fill process, including adding the Mopar service refrigerant dye.
