Acceleration problems

Ello! I'm new to this forum and I bought my very first Jeep back in October of last year. I have the 2011 Compass. I'm having a weird hesitation in acceleration and I took it to the dealer and they claim that they don't know what I'm talking about. Sometimes the engine rumbles at idle, and some times when I press on the accelerator, rather gently because I like to conserve gas, it rumbles and hesitates. Anyone know what this problem is or what I can do to rectify it? Any info is much appreciated. I've only taken it to the dealer for oil changes and things of that sort. The only thing I did myself was install a K&N air filter, because I heard it helps with gas. Thanks for any input!

It should be noted...these cars generally are known to have sloppy sluggish throttle response. My 2011 is pretty jerky at low speeds even after a computer flash to update the transmission software.

Thank you, that helps. I'll try the computer reset. As for the type of vehicle, thanks, that makes me feel better that it's not that there's a problem, but it's in it's nature. I appreciate the help!
