AC Bypass?

I did a search, but came up empty-handed. What exactly is the AC Bypass?

I often wondered that myself. I think it just means "no AC".

If you can vary the amount of cooling with a temperature control, and the A/C uses a passage to a mixing chamber, you have a bypass system.

The build & price Jeep site shows the AC-Bypass as an option only when AC is not selected. Chosing AC disables the AC-Bypass option. Only being an option without AC is what has me confused.

In this context, you may be right. On several searches I found references to "Jeep A/C bypass pulley. Ask a sales rep. or better yet a parts guy.

So in other words, no AC.

I guess then that owner who didn't get AC and later want to add it could - for about 1 million dollars.
