Our Patriot now has 84k miles on it but a year ago the dealer would give us $8k for it on a trade in so I told him where to stick it. I plan to keep ours forever.
I'm hoping I can talk him down to at least $11. Love this patriot but I was looking for one with a little less miles in it. But I figure 85k miles isn't too bad for a jeep.
What model and the features does it have? For the hell of it I took my 2011 patriot with 12,000 miles for a trade in and they offered me $13,000. With owning it for almost a year I lost $11,000.
Is it FDI or FDII? It seems a little steep for '07 w/ 85k miles. If you do decide to buy it, make sure to inspect the front end: ball joints, control arms, bushings, etc. If the ball joints and/or control arms are still original, take it for a spin through some speed bumps and listen for clunk noise coming from the front. I'd insist the dealer would change them before you buy. Other than that, engine and tranny are bullet proof on those things and shouldn't give you any problems. One guy on other patriot forum has hit 200k miles on his Patriot with minor issues but including ball joints and control arms. Moog carries replacement parts for the Patriot with lifetime warranty.
I have a 2007 Patriot Limited 4x2 with 2.4L paid $23K brand new with 10miles on it! I now have right at 102Kmiles and just purchased a 2011 Dodge Durango for the room. The dealership would have gave me $8K but we decided just to keep it. It's been great!
I happen to know Nissan extended their warranty on the CVT in the Maxima. My Dad was informed for his '07. Don't know why. But the CVT is another reason I bought the Maximum Care warranty. Don't trust them yet.
I wouldn't pay that much...my new 08 Compass was just a shade over 19K and it is not the base model (08 Rallye with BA electronic package).
