5-Speed vs. CVT

I'm thinking of purchasing a Patriot and am torn regarding which transmission to get. I drive mostly highway miles with some small hills along the way. On test drive, I noticed just a little bit of jerkiness in the automatic transmission. Could this spell early problems for the CVT? Any thoughts??

I had some VERY minor jerkiness early on that is pretty much non existent now. I think some of us discussed that about a year ago. Maybe driving technique? I've had zero problems at 18K miles.
