255/65/17 TJ rims and tires on a Compass

what sort of spacers would I need to run these, I would assume that they are far too wide right now.

Has anyone done this before?

Someone was going to play with some spacers but I can't remember who or what post it was, sorry! Hopefully they'll read your Q and get back with us.

Thanks, from what I understand, people are trying to run 235s with minimal rub, so with an additional 20 mm. I would "assume" that I would need about 1-2inch spacers as 20mm = 0.79"

meaning these should fit

PS. why can I not post pics yet? Also, where did you get, and how much was your lift. Thanks

I'm running 235/60-18" with no rubbing but just as important is the difference in wheel off-set between the stock rims and those TJ rims. Going from memory, the back spacing on the stock 18" are about 43mm but I don't know what it is on the TJ's. I'll' try and do some research and get back to you in a few days on that. The difference between the 235 and 255 from center is only 10mm (20mm divided by 2), the rest is needed for the difference in backspacing. The 1 1/4" ones may be just the ticket, any less and you may have problems with the wheel studs.

Those SpiderTrax are really top rated spacers! Nice choice.

The only mass produced lift kit available is from Rocky Road Outfitters, some of us love it and a few thought that added some creaks and groans to the suspension. All in all it's been well received. Once your into the site click on the Patriot listing. Prices are posted there.

makes sense,
I just got a deal on pull offs from a 08 4dr wrangler. 5 tires, 5 rims for 600.00! So I couldnt pass them up. If they dont fit on the Compass, I guess I'll hack them onto the cherokee. But they would look impressive on the MK!

I'm gonna check out that site, any issues with warranties?

I've just posted some info over here that also covers part of you question on fitment: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showp...67&postcount=4

I was also going to include an alternative to the RRO lift Kit because some dealers will give you a hassle on warranting suspension parts. To avoid this you can use the springs off of the Patriot FD II package (and shocks if you like) that according to Jeep engineers will bring you up from 8" to 9" gc if you include the 28"tires. Bigger tires will bring you up even more.
