2014 Compass.....How do you like yours ? Any Issues ?

I'm pondering buying a 2014 Compass 4x4 here real soon.

Those that have em, how do you like it ?

Are there any issues I need to be aware of before I buy ?

So far, so good

We have a 2013 Compass Sport 2.0 4 x 2 manual. No problems yet. I was leery of the CVT after having one fail in a Nissan Sentra. After reading lots of reviews on this and other forums and websites, I have no regrets. We added a Curt trailer hitch and an aftermarket wiring harness to tow a small utility trailer, which works fine. Mileage has been in the mid-to-high 20s with mostly city driving.
I know that this is not the model you are looking at, but if you search this forum, I think that you will find lots of opinions. With the exception of the transmission choices and the standard features/options, I believe that the 2013 and 2014 are similar.

I have the Limited 4x4. The only problem I had so far, was that the GPS somehow froze while I was tinkering with the settings. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to work again but, other then that, its been a great little SUV.

With the 6 speed automatic transmission I get about 21 mpg city and 26 highway.

Our son has a '14 Compass Latitude 4x4 with the new 6 speed auto and the all weather group. Don't know what kind of mileage he's getting, but he really likes it so far (three months). Biggest drawback I can see is like most Jeeps you get stuck with the stinkin' Goodyear SRA's!

its no Porsche, but for a compact suv with a lot of ground clearance its decent. The stock tires leave a lot to be desired.

Just bought a 2014 Compass 1/22/2014 with the 2.4 and the FD1 AWD. Haven't had it long enough to have anything to say good or bad other than the wife likes it. That was the critical part to buy it. Seems like a neat vehicle that will get her up and down our long clay road after a rain storm. This is not our 1st or only 4x4 but is the 1st Jeep. 1st 6 speed transmission. It is only the 3rd 4 cylinder engine.

Some bad weather in Florida with lots of ice gave me a need to field test the new Compass and see how the AWD works. Drove 120 miles round trip watching people fish tail and run off the road around me the new Jeep went along with no problems so for the short term test so far so good maybe even great.

I had a 2011 compass and was very pleased with it, transmission and all. But the 2014 is a much nicer car despite the similar trim level (latitude). The interior stitching and increased use of padded surfaces is a far cry from the almost crude interior of the old one. The new transmission is great, very peppy and responsive giving better mileage in the bargain. All in all, this is a very nice car.
