2011 Jeep Patriot Clicking Sound

I just bought my first Jeep, a 2011 Jeep Patriot to be exact and love it. Yes it is used and was amazing until this clicking sound started. I am just wanting to see if it is normal or if I should call the dealership I bought it from to fix it. When I unlock the vehicle in the morning it makes this clicking noise that is coming from the instrument cluster for like less than 10 seconds. It will also occasionally do this if I turn the AC higher or lower. Any ideas?

Probably the ventilation flap control unit or part of its mechanism...

Hey Wagzillion,

When your vehicle makes this noise, is the vehicle running? Also does your vehicle do this all the time or is intermittent? If the noise is easy to replicate it should be easy for an FCA certified dealership to diagnose.

JeepCares, it makes the noise both without it running and while it's running. It initially happens when I unlock the vehicle to get in while it's not running and then while I adjust the air while it is running.

Just yesterday I noticed that when my car is in park and I depress the brake there is a loud click coming from the shifter.

Hey Wagzillion,

Unfortunately, I was unable to locate any TSBs that related to your vehicle. If this “clicking,” noise is easy to have replicated, I would advise you to bring it to the attention of an FCA certified dealership. The dealership should be able to diagnose and repair the noise, if the noise can be replicated.
