2009 Patriot questions

Ok so i was just at the jeep dealer and said i wanted to test drive an 08 patriot. Instead he grabbed keys for an 09, and i drove it anyways.

I just have to say that the new interior is pretty gorgeous. But i have a few other questions. Have any changes been made the the 4WD system? I saw down on the center console that there was some type of lever that said "lock 4wd"... Is that different from the 08? I didnt realize they have locking systems.

Also, will the 2009 still be available with a 5-speed manual?

the 2007/2008s have that 4WD lock as standard equipment (well 4x4s do ), its a smart electronic lock of the front/rear drive trains. AFAIK the drive train is identical from 2007-2009.

dunno bout the 5 speed though.

I'm pretty sure I saw a 2009 with a 5spd in it on the dealer lot, but I'm not 100% sure. My wife wasn't interested in a manual for hauling around the kid, so I didn't look to closely.

I'm pretty sure they moved the 4WD lock lever location between the model years though.
