2008 Compass wont start, battery is fine

Hi all, need input from anyone who had the same problem. My 2008 compass wont start, I checked my battery and reads over 12 volts. I had a problem a couple of weeks ago, it took a couple of tries to get the jeep to start. I took it to the dealer and the code they found was saying the key is not recognized. So they cleared the code and it worked fine for a week and now it wont start at all, engine wont turn over. Owners manual is no help... I didn't see a starter relay in the fuse box and also I can't find where the starter motor so I can tap it with a hammer if it is a starter issue. Any feedback will be great help. Thanks.

Check the ground wire, just in case.

It sounds like it won't even crank. Even a key with no chip will allow it to do that, it just won't fire or will fire and then die.

If you could call them up and find out what the # code was, like Bxxxx, that would help.

It could be the 10a fused ignition switch output in the TIPM or the TIPM itself is bad.

or

The Occupant Restraint Controller

or

The Transmission Range Sensor.
