2007 Patriot front end

Has anyone seen anything on these 07's needing ball joints and tie rod ends? I've had the tie rod ends replaced @ 42,000 miles and now I think the lower ball joint is also bad @ 45,000 miles.

yes, the early MK models had pre-mature ball joint failure. Gramps, what is the brand that is recommended to replace them with?

MOOG is the brand to get. Just call around and see which of the local stores carry that brand. MOOG has the grease fittings that will add to your 'tune-up time' but they will last longer if not neglected.

It's the most common problem of MKs. The other jeep patriot forum is flooded with complaints about it but as mentioned Moog carries greasible parts with lifetime warranty.

I had one go out at around 50k replaced under warranty and replaced both of them around 80k with Moog.

I've also replaced front sway bar links (Moog), front sway bar bushings (Energy), left side tie rod (Mopar), rear toe links (Mopar) and struts (Mopar) all around.

It still clunks and rattles, drives me crazy that no one can find it the dealer and two independent mechanics have looked at it. Still drives straight and tire wear is normal though.

I guess my point is hopefully for you ball joints fix it.

So glad I bought the Maximum Care Plus thingy from Chrysler.

Looks like both Ball joints and Tie Rod ends are covered.
