10k for a New Patriot.

Gentlemen:

With Chrysler's new promotion, the price of the Patriot has dropped to below $10,000 brand new for me.

Is this deal too good to pass up?

I'm 98% going to pull the trigger on it tomorrow, is there any reason I should not?

Wow, I bet that is for the base model though. I wonder what the price with 4X4 and the offroad package would be. Let us know how you do.

Just configured.

I'm looking at the Rocky Mountain 4x4 with CVT, so it comes to 23025 - 4500x2 = 14025.

With the sticker being 23025 I'm assuming I can manage to get it for 22000. So minus the 9000 it would be a brand new Rocky Mountain 4x4 Patriot for 13000.

Keep in mind folks that the problem will be finding one. My dealer (the biggest in the area) hasn't had ANY Patriot's (new or used) since May. At that point they said none were even being built because of all the upheval in the industry.

I believe the Belvedere plant either has already began, or is planned to begin production again soon. So there should be some more Patriots coming to the market.

Aren't there rules to this program, like the new vehicle has to get 10 mpg better than your old one, etc.? Also, will they take the $9,000 off a negotiated price or only off the MSRP?

It looks like it should be back up and running July 27th.

My dealer in New London, CT has two, a 4x4 and a FWD 5-speed.

I'm kinda in the same boat... I have roughly 6 Patriots in a hundred mile radius; half are FWD, the other 3 are 4WD.

With my clunker, it's onlyit's going to fetch the $3500 incentive, $3500 matching and probably $1000-1500 trade in on my other vehicle. Either way, 8k off of MSRP isn't anything to ignore; negotiating well below MSRP would likely push these well below the $10,000 mark.

The issue I have right now is the wife is hell bent on buying a Hyundai Elantra... Roughly the same MSRP for a loaded Elantra vs a stock Patriot, however, the MPG difference allows for the $4500 incentive and $2000 factory rebate bringing the net price down to around $8k...

There is a quite lovely new 08 4WD on a lot a little ways from here... It carries a $4000 bonus cash, $1500 customer cash and the CARS incentive...

Anyone have any tips on negotiating a price below MSRP? I feel kinda stuck right with the lack of inventory and the push for these incentives... And absolutely refuse to pay MSRP for a rig with a 9/08 build date (the newest 09s here) or more than maybe $15k before incentives on that MY08....

There are NO Patriots to be found in Mi. as of yesterday per several dealers and numerous calls to all the dealers within 100mi. of the Detroit area.

If anyone wants to trek to Connecticut. Good folks, I've been dealing with them for years. Ask for Pete Linder, tell him Bill White sent you.

when i'm looking at the website, it says either the gov't vouhcer of 4500 plus the 3500 consumer cash, or the 4000 bonus cash/1500 consumer cash. I'm assuming that you can't get the latter deal with the cash for clunkers trade in? let me know.

I took delivery of my '09 Patriot yesterday.

They gave me the $4500 voucher, $3500 consumer cash, $1500 rebate, and the scrap value for the E-150 (12mpg) I traded in, for a total of $9725 off the sticker.

When I looked at the dealer last Friday after hours, they had 15 in stock. When I got to the dealer at 1pm on Saturday, they had 3 left, and they sold 2 while I was looking at them. I took the remaining 1 out for a test drive, and they sold it before I got back. So, when they told me a couple of buyers were flaking out, I put a backup deposit on them, and ended up getting the black one I wanted.

Out of the 15 they had, only 2 were 4x4, and 3 had CVT...
