Hello Jeepdom, I a few questions here for you.
After selling my TJ about 3 years ago, I have not been on this site for a few years.
As a "coming home" from Iraq present my wife just purchased me a 2008 Rubicon. (No doubt the best wife on the planet!) It already has a lift, winch, AEV wheels, poison spyder rocker knockers, and 37 tires. She bought it as a surprise but dropped the ball asking about my ID and insurance stuff. Can't wait to get home and check it out. I did have a mechanically inclined friend look it over and give his blessing. My only concern is the lift. While not one I would have purchsed I am concerned with the lack of information regarding it. It is the Rancho Long Arm 4 inch lift tri link with adjustable shocks. Had I put a lift on myself I would of went with the AEV but beggars damn better not be choosers. Any opinions? I heard some safety issues on the highway regarding long arm lifts. It will be my daily driver and I drive about 35 miles both ways to and from work. Let me know if it is something that needs to be considered changing out for 1. Ride Comfort and 2. Safety.
The second question or concern I have is for the AEV pintler beadlock wheels. How hard is it to get these rotated and balanced. I have never had beadlocks and to be honest probably don't need them but in the meantime are they a pain to take in to a tire place to have new tires put on or rotated and balanced ever 3k miles?
Thanks and can't wait to get out of Helliraqistan!
