I'll be working on that next... I bought an auto-sensing switch but I'm thinking I just may use the video2 input on the monitor and have either a series of switches or like one multi-switch which could then switch to the different cameras and/or other video feeds.

I got my tv tuner installed:

ordered this tuner and a mobile antenna:
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=18308

install was very simple and it gave me two more video inputs so I may not need a video switcher as I can bounce around video sources with the remotes :yup:

reception is good, even in garage. In motion it's okay... not great.

closeup of antenna I mounted to the inside top of the windshield:

came with wireless remote but had to setup IR receive where it could be seen:

That might be illegal, at least in Michigan. I do not know this for %100 sure, but I remember seeing it somewhere that it is illegal to have a video screen that is viewable by the driver while driving. Anyone else know if this is true?

I love it. Very portable and I can easily hook it up to the laptop to load more waypoints, topo data, view breadcrumb trails on google earth, etc. Haven't cracked open the manual yet, it's huge, but I'm sure it does a lot more that I don't know about.

I'm looking for a GPS, I don't really need it but it would be nice to have. There are so many out the just not sure of the differences between them. I do have a garmin etrex but it's very basic with no maps. I use that for hunting.

Yeah I've never had one, figured I could do without, but wanted something for when I'm exploring unknown territory, on the trail, etc. so far it has already come in handy.

I wanted something that looked good in the jeep and looked like it belonged so it was worth the extra money to get something that looked OEM. And it is the Jeep badged edition and trail guide version with some great detailed maps, not just city navigation.

And it was a few hundred bucks less than the GPS units that play MP3s, photos, etc... didn't need all that garbage.

How much did you pay for the Trail Guide GPS? From what I found the list is around $700 but they claim it is cheaper than other gps.

Install couple of cameras up front and under the chassis for 4-wheeling spotter view.

I wouldn't dare drive and watch TV at the same time. It's just for the rear view cam I'm going to install.

But it is great watching TV/Movies in the park while kicking back with some friends... or watching the game/pre-game while tailgating
