How fast should or can you be going when you change from 2wd to 4wd high? What about from 4wd high to 4wd low?

I think it's at 55 mph.

edit: Somehow I messed the 4-low part. Broken_Soldier is right, only stopped or a very very slow roll.

...and from 4hi to 4lo 1-2 mph. Just a slight roll is all that's needed for smooth transition, though it can be done (hit or miss) while stopped.

All this was in my owners manual...maybe they are cutting costs by not including a manual?

Unless it has changed from 2007 it is in the manual. Page 268 in the 2007 manual lists this info.

My salesman actually walked me through the whole thing. 2wd to 4hi at less than 55, and 4hi to 4lo at VERY slow/stopped. The only problem with stopped if the gears don't mesh right on the shift. He even had me do it on the lot to make sure that I was comfortable with it. He drove an '06 Orange LG with 6" of lift and some swampers.

You only want to be in 4WD when the surface you are driving on has enough slippage to allow the front wheels to slip so as not to BIND the driveline during tight turns...

I use 4LO just about every time Im off road (it reduces the amount of clutching I need to do). Its about 50/50 trying to put it in/ out stopped, and anything over 4 mph results in a loud clunk.

It just baffles my friend that I can throw 4HI in on the fly. He always comes to a stop with his chevy. He thinks its the coolest thing ever.

In a manual trans, is it necessary to push the clutch in when going from 2wd to 4hi?

I don't think it would be, but I just do and was wondering if it was necessary.
