What happens in my Garage stays in my Garage - Gwar11d2's Build Thread

My wife leaves for Vegas on Sunday, so naturally I've got a few parts stashed away in the garage over the past few months. Gonna be throwing them on when she's gone. Yes she knows they are there (you can't hide anything from anyone these days).

What I've already done/got:
Teraflex 2.5" Spring Lift With Shocks
Spidertrax Wheel Spacers
Teraflex Rear tire carrier "extender"
Nitto Trail Grapplers 295/70/18 "34 x 11.5ish"
Rubi Rock Rails w/ ACE Engineering Rock Sliders
JKS Front Disconnects
AEV Front Control Arm Relocation Brackets
5:13's
Aussie front locker
Sleeve and gusseted front axle.
Solid Diff Covers
CB all in one Kit from Cool Tech w/ ultramount antenna, etc.

2009 Jeep JKU Unlimited in Jeep Green (Dual Top, LS Rear)
Hella H4 headlight Conversion
(My Headlight Conversion Thread)
Daystar Dash Panel
Door Handles
Spiderweb Shade
Dirty Dog 4x4 Jeep Cargo Nets (Keeping the dog in when the top is off)
Mopar Floor Mats and Cargo Mat
Maximus-3 Winch Mount
Grabars!
MORE Dead Pedal
Dominion Off-Road Steering Stabilizer and Relocation Bracket.

What I use it for:
Daily Driver
Beaches for Fishing (need to do more of this soon....)
Uwharrie
Mountain fun and camping
Taking it to the store to buy provisions such as beer, bourbon and tenderloin. Mmmmm Loin.

I've been 'lurking' on JK forums and posting since I got my Jeep Green Sahara and I figured it's time to create a build thread since the lift is going on in the next week.

Now...umm...is my wife gonna notice it's lifted when she comes back from Vegas next Thursday?

What happens in my Garage Stays in my Garage.....

Pics to come....

Wow that would be really awesome. Should be a somewhat easy lift...although I must admit it will be my first. Springs, Shocks, Trackbar bracket, bumpstops and beer? What could go wrong? I'm trying to start after work on Monday... I've got pretty much any tools I would need, however extra floor jack, etc might be needed. PM me if you want to help out. I could use it!

I'm thinkin' that if you were to get the big tires on there before she gets back the lift will go unnoticed
Just say "I can't believe that the tires actually fit"
List looks good, have fun!

Jacked up the Jeep, started crawling underneath...forgot I bruised my ribs 2 weeks ago and umm...yah I'm hurting still. I think it's a good thing though, decided to do a tool inventory before I started and I'm missing a 16mm and a 21mm socket and wrench. Gonna head to Sears and pick up some more tools tomorrow, pop a few Ibuprofen and hopefully get the lift on before the wife comes home Thursday.

Got the whole new set of tools. Sears had a good deal on a complete set of mechanics tools. Now I'll be able to find all of the rest in the garage that have been hiding. I really tried today to get everything done. Bruised/Broken ribs and the best I could do is get the spacers on and torqued down.

What a difference in looks just the spacers do. Going in an hour to pick up the wife from the airport to put in the 'drive 50 miles and re-torque' miles in. Kinda disappointing that I couldn't get everything done, especially since the darn boxes were staring me in the face all week. Now it's time to hide everything again until after the trip up to the mountains this weekend for the fourth.

Good thing is, I've now saved enough for tires too. July is going to be a very good month. Stay tuned...

Oh side note on the torque wrench. Man I think I've been over torquing my wheels in the past because 90 ft/lbs didn't seem all that much.

My 16mm went missing when I needed it as well.

Sucks that you couldn't get it all installed. That is a bummer...

So, what tires are you looking at going with?

3 broken ribs, 4 beers and a glass of red wine I'm drinking now later and I finally got the lift installed. My ribs were 1/2 healed and had a little trouble with the 125 ft/lbs of torque on the trackbars and the front springs getting them around the teraflex bump stops... But it's complete and I'm actually quite impressed with the ride so far. This is a nice kit. Tires are next...maybe this week if I get lucky.

So here is the required pics or it didn't happen:
Before:

After:

Seriously if it wasn't for this forum I don't know how I would have done this... I've read WAY too many threads.

Weird thing is...I have 4 washers left over...couldn't find in the directions where they belong. But I'm guessing extra parts

Looks great and will be even better with the new tires
Now you can relax for a few weeks and let the ribs heal properly.

Just out of curiosity, if I had this kit installed in a shop, the Teraflex Spring lift w/ shocks... how much should it run to be out the door? I don't have all the tools to do it myself...
