Sure Jason, they can haul groceries. But my diesel can also haul a heck of a boat or a load of 4-wheelers. And get over 20 mpg doing it.
You humiliate your self when you poke fun of others, whom you have no knowledge of. Didn't your mother teach you anything? Why not call her up this weekend and ask her for a refresher, it will be Mother's Day.

It's a shame you need a specific type of vehicle to define your manhood.

How much extra does the diesel cost in the Liberty? I'm just wondering what the break even point of the better gas milage verses the cost of the engine is. A co-worker of mine has an F250 diesel that gets worse mpg than a gas engine.

I think mine was a $900.00 option; it doesn't take long to make up $900.00 at current fuel prices.

I forget the markup, since I was searching for a 300,000 mile vehicle that could tow, but I thought it was closer to $1500. Either way, still chump change when compared to 16 mpg in the gasser.
And yes, the Chevy/Dodge/Ford diesels get crappy mileage (not sure why) although they can tow well over 10,000 lb (which further tanks their mileage).

Which is it: Are bitter because you can't afford a decent lift? or recently dumped by a guy who had a decent lift?
According to your logic: If the size of a lift is directly proportional to a guy's need to compensate, wouldn't that mean those who lower a 4x4 have too much?
Face it... there are posers out there for probably every type of vehicle and every way of modding them. There are also people who mod their vehicle to suit their needs. Not everyone wheels in the soft sand, nor deep snow, nor up sharp rocks, nor even thick mud! Each type of course begs for a different type of setup to best run the course. Sometimes.... people simply mod a vehicle a certain way because they like that look... enough so that they spend hours polishing every bolt and body panel just sit in a lawn chair next to it in some parking lot filled with other 'babied' vehicles.

1. I have a decent lift, it suits my needs... it is the safest and most effective way to fit my 32in tires without rub at flex and keep her stable on the freeway... so call me cheap.
2. My WJ sees more action off road then whatever you do, or don't drive. so call me an offroader...
3. My WJ, when not offroad, is the cleanest SUV on the road. I wash her 3-4 times a week because I like the way she looks... I polish the wheel and dress the trim, I even clean in the wheel wells every time to keep her looking the best out there... so call me a poser
4. I can take a joke as well as dish them out... something you seem incapable of doing... so call me a comedian...
just don't sit there and try to call me stupid. if you can't see a joke when it's sitting in front of you that is far from my fault. if you bothered to post much, or even bother support this forum you surf on, you'd know I'm the first person to come forward and speak up for the people who like the useless brushguards on a WJ when everyone trashes on them for asking which one is best, and one of the only people to stick up for the liberty when it gets trashed on the JK forum. I dont know if your defensive behavoir is to protect your feeling of inadiquicy or maybe a big truck... but either way, to each his own
btw, THAT was a joke, just an FYI buddy

My point was that compairing the "off-road capability" of a Liberty and a CRV is like compairing the aerodynamics of a Mack Dump Truck vs. an International Dump Truck... there is no point because neither was designed to be aerodynamic, just like the CRV and the Liberty were designed for VERY light off roading if they ever go off road. The only guys I would see bringing up how tough their Liberty is would probably be trying to defend its/their masculinity. The Liberty or a CRV might work well for towing things, or for gas mileage. But that just makes it a good car with 4wd that works well for a family car, nothing more.
Here's a question for you. Do you wave to other Liberty drivers?

Oh, yes, they are. Newer big rigs are a huge improvement in aerodynamics.

You are a certified elitist who defines people qualities by the things they own.
That out of the way, Liberty 4x4 is more capable off-road out of the box then a huge number of old Wranglers - those trims with a small engine, small tires, weak axels and so on. It has more then 9 inches of clearance, more then 30 degree approach/departure, more then 20 breakover, available 300lb-ft of torque and true low range. Look up the specs for old base Wrangler models.
You will not take it rock crawling, but if you define capability as getting from point A to point B over some bad roads with minumum fuss, it is more capable then many build up rigs that seem to be sitting on the trail side getting repaired all the time.
Not everybody has spare time to screw around with old junk.

I think L.O.S.T. members might disagree.

It's funny that I'm in the joke forum and the liberty's getting discussed....
Actually I'm a fan of the CRD. I dunno any specs or anything, but it's just cool to have a diesel in a jeep.
Honestly I didn't even know this forum existed, and has the actual meaning of JK been answered, or were those "in-correct but very good guesses" answers?

I think somone wrote that it meant "Jeep King" earlier... or maybe that was in a thread in the CJ portion of this forum... These subsections get so interchangable!
