What do you think of your 2012 so far?

Currently I have a 2008 Wrangler X that I have had a number of issues with. Due to an expanding family I will need to get a vehicle with 4 doors. I've been trying to decide if the 2012 Unlimited's are the way to go or if I need to go a different route. This will be for mostly around town driving but need a decent 4x4 to get to work when it snows. Also light off-roading isn't out of the question if I can find some trails but nothing heavy.
So what do you think of your 2012 so far. I am interested in both the good and the bad. Also if you have gone from a 2 door to a 4 door are you happy with the 4 door?
Any info you can give would be great to help me make my decision a little easier.
Thanks

Congrats on the expanding family! I absolutely love mine. Sounds like a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited would be right up your alley. Go with the Sahara and you'll get a few extra creature comforts for your family. The leg room is sparse in the backseat when it comes to adults, but little ones will have plenty of room until they're in their early teens.

I had an old TJ and I love our new '12 JKU. I wasn't crazy about the 4 doors when they first came out but with 2 kids it's a must have and I do really like them now.

It all depends on you. Lots of people that get a jeep for "casual" use end up disliking it because it's a jeep. It's noisy, tightly sprung, gets iffy fuel mileage, and does have some built in Chrysler issues.
It you want unique, functional, fun, with a long heritage, then jeep's for you. If you want to haul stuff, tow stuff, have a fluffy cushy quiet ride and casual offroad capability, then get a Tacoma or an xterra.

I love my new JK 2012 Tonka Jeep I got the two door because if I want to go topless and with out the doors I won't have that center piller breaking up the look and feel of the beach buggy.

Went from 05 Liberty/98 wrangler to the 2012. Liking it a lot. Adjusting to the 3.21 gears with a manual was the hardest.

Went from a TJ to a '12 JKUR for the same reason. We had a kid....we have a big dog. In order to get them all to the beach or anywhere worth going we needed the room.

Couldn't be happier. Night and day from the TJ. If you like Jeeps...and just need more room...can't go wrong.

about 7k on the clock no issues yet. we treat our rubi to its ration of rocks 2 time at least a month. compared to my old 66cj its like a caddy that eats trails like a tank.

I ordered my 2012 JKU as soon as the order banks opened. I've had it sense late August and had a TJ before it. My new gf has kids and I pull a small trailer from time to time. It has worked out great so far and I've had no problems. Milage is tolerable ( 16 city 20 hwy) with 3.73 gears. The new motor is great too. Finally a Jeep that has enough power to go up hills on the interstate or pass a car on a two lane road! Hope this helps, the whole family enjoys mine.

Had mine for about a month, LOVE IT !!! Have even let the thought of selling my 88 YJ cross my mind. I got the 2 door sport, just haven't gotten the bug for the 4 door yet, and my kids are grown, had suburbans, tahoes and jeep cherokees, the cherokee has gone places that our big chevys wouldn't touch in the snow. I wanted another wrangler for quite a while, so now it's our turn to go out and have some fun... and it's so much fun telling the kids, no, you can't drive/borrow the jeep

2012 arctic. love it! i did deal with the passenger door water leak. but the dealer put it right. a blast to drive and own. cant believe how much they evolved from my 07. the 3.6 is the biggest improvement followed by the 11-12 interior. i have a 50 mile round trip a day, and its very civil on the hi-way.

If you liked your 2008 JK, you'll really appreciate the changes made since.
Going to 4 doors thank goodness is possible in the JKU, I'm guessing here because I'm going from childhood memories and comments from recent passengers, but the increased wheelbase makes for a smooth ride. You might have to plan your u turns, or choose your lines off road as a consequence though.

Plenty of room in the JKU wagons for mom, dad, carseats, and Fido.
