I think it will do ok for what I'll be putting it through starting out. Easy to take off if needed, board wise. Seems to be pretty sturdy. Not exactly what I wanted overall but I think my wife will like these better than the stock steps I had. For being tall for a girl she sure can't get in a lifted rig very easily!

The next thing I'm curious about would be some sort of "slider" that I can mount with minor fab to help cover up the bottom section under the doors. Trying to minimize the scratches from the pup getting in and out.

Back to the drawing board.

If your concerned with scratches you may want to stay on the high way. Nothing wrong with taking care of your jeep. Most of us here don't really try to avoid scratches. So don't trip when we make smart *** remarks. We really don't mean to offend.

Who is offended? Not me. Scratches are going to happen. Just trying to prevent a ton of scratches on one particular spot with claws hitting paint. As for wheeling, it will see trail riding and camping. I've got my CJ5 and quad for anything harder for now. I usually don't keep goodies like this for a long time. I get em, try em out and use that to show my customers to help move product. They will be gone by next winter, if we ever have another one.

When I first got my JK I let my 15 year old daughter drive off road on our way up to Baker lake. She must have side swiped every bush on the way up. I got some great Sierra pin stripe. That day I tossed avoiding the scratches out the door.

My buddy in the brown truck was just here with my ELKA shocks, a few days ago he brought some TeraFlex Speed-Bumps and front brake lines.
Hopefully tomorrow he'll have a Currie Anti-Rock so I can do some major suspension work on Saturday
Pictures and a suspension thread coming soon!

How easy was that grill work? I've thought about it but can't really decide if its worth it. Looks really good on your rig tho. I like it.

Jim, sounds exciting with all those cool parts accumulating, I think I’m a little envious of you though. Have you been able to settle down in your new job now to where you have a little more time for yourself/Jeep and Laurie yet?

Finally got a nice day to put my ARB on

Kind of feel weird having AEV lift, snorkel and rims but putting on an ARB bumper..

Saving up now for the AEV rear bumper.

it was really easy. i went to car-part.com and bought a new oem grille for $60. that way incase i messed it up or didn't like it i would still have my original one. it takes about 5 minutes to pull it off. the prep work was what took the longest. i sanded down the new grille with 150 or 200 grit sandpaper. the grille was already black plastic so i didn't worry about using any acetone or whatever. i bought the jeep badge off ebay for $7, just because i liked it and bed lined that too. i did 4 coats. bought the bed liner at home depot (2 cans)

well I think that might have been taken out of context. Scratches on the jeep from a dog jumping in and out is understandable. Why not take care of your car so that a dog doesn't cause unnecessary damage?

As for scratches on the trail, I'm sure some people actively seek out bushes and shrubs to run over but I sure don't. Scratches dents and dings just happen, but I certainly don't actively try to damage my ride.

Maybe I don't make enough money
