Last thing I did before shipping the Jeep, KC Gravity Pro headlights. Amazing, amazing difference. And they look pretty great, too

Also, since the Jeep wont be in Florida for a couple months, I got a DD that the wife will use when she gets here

New Year Weekend I installed a 3 inch BDS lift kit with BDS Sway bar quick disconnects, front bumper with winch and new fog lights, and a rear bumper with lights.

so far I've had it just over a week. I've been super aware on how I drive. The engine sounds like it is having an easier time running, the response time is definitely better as far as foot to the floor is concerned. Mileage, not enough hard data to be conclusive, but I feel it's evened back out. By that I mean initially I feel the computer was reacting to the flood of air and now it's learned.

With all of that, I whole heartedly feel this will be a good investment. Allowing the engine to have a better air flow intake/exhaust it should run more efficiently. Also, once the temperature rises above freezing it should run better. Right?

Cold air is denser than warm air so it will expand more during combustion, so inherently now you will be getting your best performance, also engine bay temps are cooler due to ambient temp. When it is say 85 ambient temp, engine bay temps will go up as there is less cooler air going over the engine/radiator.

I'm not knocking CAI at all but I won't be putting one on, as I tend to splash threw some deepish water some times and that just leaves a larger opening for water to suck threw the filter( plus there is not water catch/trap on most aftermarket systems I've seen)

Just my .02 cents haha

Luceil, a "CAI" on the 3.8L is not very effective. However, You have the 3.6L, I cannot claim/disclaim any effect a CAI has on that engine. Keep in mind, your CAI is still sucking in warm engine compartment air. It is effectively just an open-air filter. Unless you wrap liquid nitrogen lines around the CAI intake tube, there will be minimal improvement in air density. Gearing in the axles will make the best "power" improvement for your money. But, I do love the look of an open air filter!
Like DIGGER said, the drawback is the susceptibility to water ingestion.
I run a RIPP supercharger, which uses an open-air filter (no air box), so IF I cross any water, I do so at minimal speed ("no wake speed").
