No build thread - I have so little shop time (full time job takes 50-60 hrs a week) that photo documentation is next to impossible - at the very least would take time from the project (or daily clean ups - my shop stays a mess quite contrary to my norm - lol). As it is I get about an average of an hour a day so have to use it wisely. This project is eating me up - I haven't had practical experience tig welding for about 20 years now - it's one of those hand eye skills that MUST be practiced to stay proficient (mig is really easy to jump back into - but I don't like wire feed aluminum, too hard to see and thus be sure of penetration) - so I am re-learning. And discovering things like a burn from thoriated tungsten spatter festers quite weird (it's mildly radioactive).

Mounted the Cobra above the rear view mirror. Wiring will take place later this week; just waiting on the EVO antenna mount.

Hey guys, I received my new "Schnorkel" yesterday and didn't waste any time to fit it. Okay, only halfway through now, need to do more cutting to attach the inner tubing to the air box but updates will fly in as soon as I am done. Here's the Wild Boar snorkel fitted.

Very cool and congrats!

Not to be a$$, but is it an actual rubicon? Just curious due to the newer (not original) decals, and sport-type tires/steps instead of rock rails?

It's a salvage vehicle from a front collision. Yes it's an actual Rubicon. Not sure why they built it that way but for the price I couldn't pass it up. And all that will be changed anyways. It has all the other Rubicon bells and whistles.

Ah, that would explain it! I wonder if the PO had aftermarket parts which they removed due to the total by the insurance CO? Then the builder just threw non- rubi parts on...

Regardless, glad you got a good deal, and glad you are happy with it, enjoy!

Nice!

Trying out Rustoleum's Gunmettle Dip. Went on smoother than PlastiDip that I tried 5 years ago. I want to see if it stays on after running some deep mud.
