I thought about making my own grill mesh. Is that what you mean by "grill insert".

If so, how will you attach it to the plastic grill on the Jeep. I took mine off a while back and didn't see anything to secure a mesh too on the inside.

You need to put wire-tie mounts between the openings. Clean and rough up the area and apply. If you can get the mounts without the foam tape already applied, use an epoxy instead; it will last longer. Let it sit overnight or longer for the best bond before applying the ties.

Here ya go:

I'm going to use epoxy after I remove the two sided tape from the zip-tie blocks. I will sand the spot where I'm affixing them. Seems pretty easy.

Last few days

Installed hothead headliners - gives the hardtop a much more finished look and should help keep the heat at bay.

Installed Safari straps cargo net.

Rotated tires.

I need to do this bit I don't want to have to take my winch off because I can't get to the front bolts very well.

Grill mesh

Did the grill mesh mod. The plastic epoxy didn't work as well as I'd hoped. Three of the blocks pulled off when tightening the zip ties. I thought I let it cure long enough, guess not. If it becomes an issue I will super glue them. Currently they are hanging free. There are so many I don't think it will matter.

Finally got around to installing lights on the windshield hinges. I really like that these lights are low profile. I think they look great and with the 10w Cree LED bulbs they really put out the light.
