How well does the q-series winch work? I've been thinking of winch options lately and the q-series is on my list.

Like mine so far. Built solid but haven't really tested it.

Yup but what I like to do is also put a small drag on it by applying the emergency brake on slightly (probably not necessary). Take your time and get it wound as neat as possible from one end to the other.

The first wrap is critical for the remaining wraps to wind properly. Get the wraps as close as possible to each other too. If the first wrap doesnít come out right do it over. Itís not really hard, just need to do a good job.

Remember to always wear gloves when handling steel cable and never get your hand too close to the fairlead. Experienced people have had their fingers and hands crushed by having it pulled into the winch.

Used it 2 times. We all got home. Pretty quiet. Worked quickly. Didn't heat up after a tough pull uphill over a bank in mud. Actually pulled me down the slope till I chocked my wheels w s big rock. All works as it should. I hate the color. Get it in black.

Thanks for the reply. And I agree, I was looking at the q-series black, the silver just looks off to me.
