Very nice! Looks factory! What was your total cost? I've entertained doing this myself.
Thanks!! Wasn't that hard, but it took a little time getting the foam panels cut properly and the fabric glued on.
$9 - foam insulation board from Home Depot
$26 - 2 cans of 3M 90 spray adhesive
$24 - 93" of headliner from Joanne's
It's not perfect on all the corners, but once you get it tucked into the recessed hardtop, it's looks pretty good. I'm pleased. I just hope the glue holds in the Texas heat!
Just took it out or a test drive. In addition to better radio sound quality and a quieter ride, there's much less light reflection on the inside also. I'm expecting it to be a little warmer as well. Will test that out when I drive up to Winter Park to go skiing in a couple weeks.
Funny thing is, it's still noisy, you just hear different noises. Lol.
Oh ... Almost forgot. In addition to my hardtop sounds panels / headliner, I put a strip of electrical tap around my Hella windshield mount lights. They were REALLY bright around the exposed rim of the glass. It was distracting. Blinding even. Made it almost harder to look down the road.
Tested it out tonight and it makes a HUGE difference!!
Took off the doors to grease the hinges, did the turn signal mod for the light indicators, put on a mossy oak windshield sticker, and tried figuring why it is squeaking. Please help, it squeaks when idling, then when i barely press on the clutch the squeaking stops completley. Any ideas?
