Vibrations and electric tape

I found a solution somewhere in regards to putting electric tape on the door hinges in order to stop the annoying clunk sounds in the doors and tailgate whenever I hit a pothole. I decided to try it today, and it seems to work. Now, are there any permanent solutions that anyone has come up with? Because I'm sure this tape will only be temporary. Any thicker aftermarket hinges or anything?

No permanent fix that I know of.. I just put new tape on when I hear it start to clunk, but honestly I don't think I've put new tape on them in the last 3 years. Actually I thought the problem was fixed as I haven't heard any complaints in a looonng time..

I would've thought the problem would be resolved too, I mean I have a 2010 though so maybe the latest models.
My JK is actually still under warranty, so perhaps I can get these fixed.

There was a letter (forgot the proper name) sent out to JK owners a few years ago addressing the door clunk issues and the fix was performed by Jeep dealerships for free. What it consisted of was them applying special grease to the strikers/latches and it did work.

Unfortunately it turned out to be just another temp fix, at least for my í08. The electrical tape fix is the best thing going for the vast majority of us with JKs. Itís cheap, easy to apply and lasts for quite a while.

I need to do this to mine. Its not bad but, just the right bump I hear it coming from my drivers door just enough to drive you crazy.

The striker can be adjusted.
Make some small marks with a sharpie (so you know the original position) then try making small adjustments.

My 2013 doesn't have the clunk, but my 2008 does and the electrical tape works like a charm. Sure, the tape needs to be replaced every couple months, but it takes me all of 2 or 3 minutes to cover all 4 doors.

I put friction tape on mine which is almost like electrical tape and it works awesome. Hell the doors shut easier go figure lol.
