Upgrade to 35's

I have a jk with 32's on it. I am wanting to upgrade to 35's. What do i need to do? i am looking at the rk 2.5 lift.

When I upgraded from 32s to 35" GY MTRs, these are the things I have done, although not all at the same time:

-RK 2.5 max travel lift
-C gussets
-TF HD tailgate hinge
-Trimmed pinch seams and rubi rails

Still to do:
-Regear to 4.65 or 4.88 (I have a 3.8L manual with 3.73)

Start by reading the jeep F.A.Q at the top of the board it has all this info in there.
Wheels with 4.5" back spacing or wheel spacers would be a good start. Proper length bump stops And the RK 2.5" lift will be fine with that.

i have after market wheels with 4.75 bs but i was mainly wondering if i really need to regear.

What gears do you currently have? Since you have the 3.6L, it may not be as critical, depending on how much terrain you drive on. You can always see how it drives, and then regear later.

3.73 gears on my 3.8L is only tolerable because I'm in flatland Florida. When I took my Jeep to the mountains last month, I was regularly downshifting to 4th gear to keep up. A regear is definitely in my future.

Re gear would help but it is not necessarily needed on the 3.6 depending on what stock gears you have and are you going to be going Offroad? I drove around for a bit with stock 3.21 gears and 35's and it wasn't that bad with the 3.6 but I'm running 4.88 gears now and it's a huge difference i have a lot more power. Actually it's overkill almost, I should have gone with 4:56 gears with 35's and I would have been fine. Drive it with the 35's first especially on the highway and see how you like it if its downshifting a lot and feels sluggish then a re gear would help. And gas mileage would increase also.

2.5" kit would work just fine teraflex, AEV, RK.

35s with 4:10s are fine, but any less than that, you'd probably want to re-gear.

if you have an auto, the AEV Procal is worth having. it will help reset your speedometer and transmission shift points to the new tire size.

Whats yall experience with the 2.5" lift and 35s and flexing. Some good rock crawling stuff max it out amd rip the fenders out?

I just got a bds 3" and 35s on my jk rubi and
My 4.10 gears are fine could use a better
Steering stabalizer but the ride isn't terrible without one I'm not even worried about gears right now or stabalizer but I have been told driveshafts should be the next big buy but idk how important they really are at my height now

You don't have to do a lot. 2.5" is something of a gateway between retaining much of the stock driveline and steering, and being forced into upgrades. The RK is ok but you'll need to source shocks and bump stops separately. At that lift I prefer the AEV kit, plus their drop brackets for the front control arms.

A 3.6 with 4.10s can handle 35s. A 3.8 just needs to be re-geared, period. If you have the latter go with 5.13s on the auto, 4.88s manual. A Procal or equivalent is a must.

It's easy to fit 35's on a JK.

Make a gear change a top priority.

Hate to hijack but this is pretty close to on topic, which tire do you recommend in 35 that won't vibrate at road speeds? I'm having issue with new 35 BFG KM2's. And yes, it will offroad, just won't live there. Still need something that wont shake the jeep apart at 75mph.

Hate to hijack but oops... Just as easy to start a new thread???

If your wheels/tires shake, either get them balanced... or you might have other issues to fix.
