Update on TIPM issue

We called the dealership that we bought the Jeep from to get a quote on replacing the TIPM....guess what?
IT'S COVERED UNDER WARRANTY!!!! Go figure! We are under the 80K miles that it goes up to so they are replacing it for us.
Thanks for all of the responses

Interesting. Link to original thread? What problem did you have with it?

It nice the dealer covered the OP's TIPM, but it's not on the list of items covered for 8 years/80,000 miles.

Maybe it was replaced under a recall? (I don't know of one, though.)
Dealer's warranty, I guess.

My dealer has also agreed to replace, free of charge, my TIPM. I am out of the 36,000/36 mo. (38,500) warranty This part is not covered on my extended warranty either. The dealer wanted to charge me $600 for part and labor. Sometimes it helps to act like a "crazy man" and make a scene in font of the manager! LOL The fact that these dealers are willing to fix these for free should indicate to us that this is a widespread problem and should be a recall! This part has been on backorder for weeks and I am told that there are 400+ requests for this backordered item. I am in contact with Chrysler and am suppose to get a call from one of their managers today. I am NOT holding my breath. I have contacted the NHTSA about this problem and it seems that I am not alone. Here is my thread.
