re: gas mileage

Were there stickers on any of the two-doors? Are their mileage numbers any better?

I'm especially interested in the 2-dr auto.

Update - drove the JK at Camp Jeep... lots of pictures

Well, I drove the JK at Camp Jeep today off-road. Hmm.. where to start. Well, let me start by saying that there are A LOT of nooks and crannies on the body. The front grill is plastic, and with all the tiny grooves and slots... bugs/mud/dirt is going to get caught in them very easily and it's going to be hard to clean. The three piece hardtop will leak eventually, trust me. That big plastic cover underneath that big plastic bumper? Well... that "houses" the motor for the electronic sway bar disconnect in the Rubicons... aftermarket will be making a sway bar motor skid plate... trust me. The Jeep is huge.. the tight trails we are used to will get a tiny bit more difficult to navigate. The interior dashboard, etc is a plastic that is textured.. cleaning mud from it will be a hassle. The 4 door Wrangler with power windows..yea, the switches for those rear windows are IN the center console. Forget about uprading to Tuffy console without some wire re-locating. It's electronic heaven underneath that hood. The wiring harness to disconnect when you take the doors off... it's not quite a quick disconnect. It'll be awkward...and the doors are heavier with the power windows motor and power locks. Eh.. lets get on with the pictures.

Oh, btw, the nut to keep the doors on that us TJ owners take off and hate? Yea... that is now a torx bolt. Oh yea... the V6, curved windshield, etc. etc.... gas mileage? Haha... it's the SAME as our TJs.

Thanks for all those pics Rocky. Very cool. I'm feelin' pretty good about buying a recent '06 rubi. Just on looks alone if nothing else. But a few mechanic friends told me to get the I6 over the V6 for the torque and reliability.

On mileage, I would think with higher gears, smaller tires on a SWB mileage has got to be better on the SWB, than the big unlimited. Did you see a sticker for that?

And you know that how? EPA disagrees with you.

BTW with "Spidertrax 1.25" Wheel Spacers - 32"x11.5" MT/R Tires " - what is the actual width of your TJ (sidewall to side wall) compared to the JK with 10.5 32"s ?

With 2.5" of spacers, and extra 2" of tires sticking out - is not it exactly the same?

I think that wins all the "better mileage" arguments. Did that sticker show the nav system for 195?
