Thank you, my local alarm dealer has a third party system that has a box that "learns" the key's, I have to bring both.

He will charge me $375.00 for the system installed. I am well versed in wiring, but I think I let him do it.

The standard key fob range is 800 feet. The upgrade kit you can purchase (msrp $109) has a range of 1600 ft, plus it's a 2 way fob. It will flash an LED, vibrate and chirp to let you know the vehicle is started and running.
