Trying to decide on Tires...
and which ones will look best on my stock rims for now.
My rig now:
I'm looking at:
superswampers STS 33/12.50/16:
BFG AT T/A KO 305/70R16:
I know the "bulge" on these with the 16 x 7 rims will be "deeper" than shown here and that the tire will probably actually stick out a little more.
Questions: which look best? will i absolutely need to lift now? Will they rub without a lift? will they look better with 2" lift? will they work with the 16 x 7 stock rims?
THANKS!

Thanks. I found some 285/75R16s at sams last night for 180/ea. of the BFG T/As. Can you get them without the white lettering or just put that on the inside??

It would look better in my driveway! IMO it will look good with any of the tires...except the first ones I have the Nitto Terra Grapplers and the other day I saw in a magazine some Nitto Dune Grapplers? (Iam not sure of the name) I would have considered them if I knew they existed.

Are you going for a look for the Jeep or what would be best for your driving style? I would make my decision more on how I plan on using my Jeep.
If you are doing alot of street driving, those STS might not be the best choice except for on dry ground. The blocks are quick large and in some rain-situations it can cause you to hydroplane. I noticed your location says Arkansas - I am not familier with the weather patterns there. Is it normally dry or rainy?
The MTRs are a very good all around tire, but you will find that they will wear down on pavement quickly. On the trails their performance is top-notch.
The Swamper SSR with large voids, sipes and TSL might be a better choice for street / trail use than the STS.

thanks, it's what I do for a living, so even on stuff for play has to be done to a certain level...if I have better angles on the orig. tires, I'm sure I could do better...crap in, crap out!

Yes, I tend to do more street daily driver stuff. I had the BFG T/A's on my TJ, they are nice, wear nicely, drive nicely (a little wandering on rain) and are quiet on pavement than MTs. But they are $$ than others.
When I do offroad, it's mainly trail with a little mud. it's a pretty large blend of weather conditions here in central AR. up northwest we have curvy roads and mountains, south east river delta plains. then there's the towing of a small boat to the lakes south west. other than that stuff, it's my DD so I want to find a nice balance between capability, pavement, trail, MPG economy and then LOOKs.
I love those Nitto Grapplers you have there, what do those run and how do they handle?

Just checked with my local shop, they can get me 4 nitto grapplers for $687 installed. I think i'm going to leave the spare the stock, is that a bad idea? I can always buy an extra tire later, right?

okay, here's using a Nitto Terra Grappler from their site on my jeep:
If I can decide on this, he said he could throw them on there this afternoon.

Looks good, but definitely get the spare quick! Nothing is worse than a larger tire to ride on and a little one on the back. Luckily for the JK, the stock ones are a little bigger from the start!

Lools good. Get the spare. It will complete the look and you won't regret it.

Yes, it's only 2" difference in diameter and I just bought the cover for $40 from quadratec, I doubt they will take it back.
I hate to spend anymore than I have to right now. I shouldn't be doing it, but my shop has them on order and will install tomorrow!
Thanks for everyone's help. Grapplers it is!
